Your Safety Is Our Priority

Safety is very important, especially when you are producing raw milk for humans. It is our top priority to provide you with an ultra low risk product.

*We are certified by the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture as a raw milk producer.

We take lots of care when milking our cows.

  1. Give cows feed and on demand water.
  2. Clear away urine or manure on the floor
  3. Wash all milking equipment with extremely hot water and soap.
  4. Thoroughly clean the cows teats, making sure to clean all dirt/manure from the udder and teats.
  5. Attach the milker to the cow and milk until done.
  6. Milk is transferred through a sanitized pipeline to the milk house where it is cooled  and stored until bottling.

Cleanliness is just as important when bottling the milk. Here is what our bottling process looks like.

  1. When it is time for bottling, clean all the pipes and equipment with hot water and soap.
  2. Run the bottler until we have the correct amount of milk bottled.
  3. Milk is immediately put in the cooler and stored at 36-40F.

We regularly test the milk and cows.

The State of Pennsylvania tests for general bacteria 2x per month at state certified labs. The state inspects the farm every 3 months for raw milk production safety standards. The cows are tested 2 times per year for pathogens at state-certified labs. And then there is an additional normal dairy inspections that comes 2 times per year.

Also, our cows are blood tested by a licensed veterinarian every year to be verified free of:

Bovine tuberculosis - zero tolerance
Brucellosis - zero tolerance
